NSW: Brogden says rail jobs for the boys again
NSW Opposition Leader JOHN BROGDEN has accused the new chairman of StateRail of beinga Labor mate who presided over the cover-up of the Menangle Bridge report.
ROD SIMS, chairman of the Rail Infrastructure Corporation, has been appointed to headStateRail by Transport Services Minister MICHAEL COSTA.
Mr SIMS chaired the infrastructure corporation while it allegedly covered up an expertreport recommending the Menangle Bridge be closed and while its administration and seniorexecutives were referred to the state's corruption watchdog.
Mr BROGDEN has also questioned Mr COSTA'S commitment to re-build the Menangle railbridge in Sydney's south-west.
The bridge was reported as being structurally dangerous on March 6 but was not closeduntil five days after the March 22 state election.
