QLD: Sharples lodges CJC complaints after Nation challenge

BRISBANE, Aug 20 AAP - The man who successfully challenged One Nation's party status in
court lodged two complaints with Queensland's crime watchdog today in the wake of the Supreme
Court case.

Failed One Nation candidate Terry Sharples this week won his bid to have One Nation
deregistered as a political party in Queensland.

The party's leaders face fraud charges as a result of the case and legal action by the
state government to recoup the $500,000 in electoral funds paid to One Nation following last
year's election.

Mr Sharples presented the Criminal Justice Commission (CJC) with documents today alleging
an Electoral Commission officer lied in an affidavit presented to the court during the case.

The second complaint centred on an attempt by the legal teams of the Electoral Commission
and Crown Law to stay one of Supreme Court justice Roslyn Atkinson's decisions, he said.

"These complaints have been a long time coming," Mr Sharples said.

"But I felt it was inappropriate to lodge them before the court's judgment."

A CJC spokesman confirmed material had been received from Mr Sharples this afternoon, which
would be assessed by the crime watchdog in due course.
